
Ederline has a good reputation for fishing: the Hill Lochs have excellent brown trout in over 19 lochs, 6 of which have boats.
Loch Ederline is well known for its pike (record 32 lbs - 1997), roach and perch.
Loch Awe has trout (UK record 33lbs - Aug 2000), pike, perch, char, sea trout and salmon.
Salmon and sea trout fishing by prior arrangement available on the river Add.
Brown Trout (19 Hill Lochs - 6 with boats - Fly Fishing Only)
The estate has good wild brown trout fishing in 19 hill lochs, average catches of 15-20 fish a day are common.
The lochs may be reached by a high clearance 4x4 with care, or alternatively you may wish to take the two mile scenic walk through the estate to the lochs.
Coarse Fishing (Spinning, Trolling and Bait)
Loch Ederline which has course fishing, pike, perch and roach, is in easy reach of the cottages with pike caught regularly over 10lbs. (The record being 32lbs in early 1997).
Loch Awe
Loch Awe at 24 miles long is the longest loch in Scotland and contains an abundance of fish and holds the current UK Brown Trout record of 33lbs caught August 2000.
Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout, Char, Perch, Pike, Salmon and Sea Trout are available in season. Trout Season 15 March to 6 October.
All fishing on Loch Awe is covered by a protection order which is enforced by the Loch Awe Improvement Association (LAIA) wardens.
Salmon and sea trout fishing (by prior arrangement) is also available on the river Add.
