We have fly fishing for residents staying on Ederline Estate in 22 hill lochs which has excellent naturally stocked wild brown trout. This is in a wonderful remote area and is a tonic to get away from the busy world we live in. The access is by 4×4 or you can leave your car at the top gate and then have a healthy walk through stunning scenery. A great place to see regular sitings of the resident pair of Golden Eagles and the numerous red deer. We often see Sea Eagles gliding over the heather or perched on a rock on the skyline. We have a picnic hut available which makes a great base to explore the numerous hill lochs and meet back for your picnic lunch!.
Loch Ederline which is a lower loch has excellent Pike and Perch fishing and is close to many of the cottages. A great place for an evening row with a rod and a beer and relax after a day exploring the many sites and places of interest locally.
There is an excellent fishing shop in Lochgilphead which can cater for all your needs called Fyne Tackle and they are very helpful with fishing tips!.
Other entertainment on the Estate.
As well as rowing boats, we can hire out to guests sit on top kayaks and paddle boards which is great for keeping everyone entertained while barbecuing or picnicking on the shore of the loch. The loch has several bays and burns to explore which take you to another loch. There is also an old ice house, wall garden, larder and a chapel by the loch to explore which was built in 1727.
Argyll has many other water sport facilities such as surfing, wild swimming, sailing and sea kayaking. A great way to explore Argylls stunning coast line which is only a short distance away.
