Ederline is perfectly situated just off the coastal road tucked in the hills. It is a short fifteen minute drive to the coast and we are ideally situated for all the ferries. Oban port is about 45 minute drive to the north with ferries to Mull, Lismore and Colonsay. The port at Kennacraig is about 45 minute drive to the south with ferries to Islay, Jura and Gigha.
The estate has an abundance of activities such as fishing, kayaking, biking, paddle boarding, wild water swimming, boats and 13’000 acres to explore.
Wild life in the area is legendary, with red and roe deer, pine martens, foxes, the famous scottish wildcat, otters and red squirrels often seen. There are also regular sightings of golden eagles and ospreys which nest on the estate.

Getting to Ederline Estate in Argyll

Directions to Ederline Farm Guest House:
Glasgow to Lochgilphead (approx 98 miles). Take the A816 Oban road out of Lochgilphead heading north. Through Kilmartin and 2 miles the other side take the first turn to the right sign posted Ford/Cladich on the B840. Follow the road for 1.5 miles past Loch Ederline on your right and into the village of Ford. Opposite the white Ford Hotel the road turns sharp right over a bridge up the hill and out of the village. After you have left the village you need to take the first turn to the right signed Ederline Estate. Continue up the drive till you get to the farm and the guest house is on the right just past the archway and the parking and entrance is just past the guest house on the left.
Directions to Finchairn Farmhouse:
From Glasgow you take the coastal road through Inveraray, Lochgilphead and then on A816 through Kilmartin then after about a mile take first turning to the right sign posted Ford and Cladich B840. After a mile you get to a village called Ford. Go into the village and turn right opposite the white hotel, over the bridge and up the hill and out of the village. Ignore first turn to the right signed to Ederline Estate and after 1/4 mile you will meet Loch Awe on your left hand side, continue for another 1 1/2 miles until the wood breaks on your right into a field, then you will see Finchairn drive immediately on your right with Finchairn Farmhouse on the hillside. Go through the closed gate up the hill over a cattle grid (Sometimes the gate is shut as well) then turn sharp left , over the brow of the hill and then drop down into the farm yard. Go through the gap in the buildings on the left to the back of the farmhouse. This is your own court yard at the back of the farmhouse.
Directions to Finchairn Cottage

When in the farm yard go straight across through another gate. Over the burn and the cottage is in front of you on the hillside.

Follow the road for 1.5 miles past Loch Ederline on your right and into the village of Ford.20 Opposite the white Ford Hotel the road turns sharp right over a bridge up the hill and out of the village. After you have left the village you need to take the first turn to the right signed Ederline Estate. Continue up the drive through the farm yard and Spring Wood starts on your left. Continue along past a cottage on your left, round a corner to your left and South Lodge is on your left.
Directions to Clachandubh Cottage
Glasgow to Lochgilphead (approx 98 miles). Take the A816 Oban road out of Lochgilphead heading north. Follow the road for 1.5 miles past Loch Ederline on your right and into the village of Ford.20 Opposite the white Ford Hotel the road turns sharp right over a bridge up the hill and out of the village. After you have left the village you need to take the first turn to the right signed Ederline Estate. Continue up the drive through the farm yard and Spring Wood starts on your left. Continue along the drive it will turn sharp left past South Lodge then sharp right and Clachandubh is 600 yds on your left.
Directions to the School Room
Glasgow to Lochgilphead, then on the A816 to Kilmartin, through Kilmartin and continue for just over one mile to the next turn right signposted Ford/Cladich on the B840. Then continue for another 2 miles into the village of Ford. Opposite the Old Ford Hotel the road bends to the right and over a stone bridge. Continue up the hill and the School Room is the last house on the left. Turn in just before the School House up a steep track, the gates are on the right into a gravelled court yard. The School Room front door is in front of you behind The School House.
Directions to the School House
Glasgow to Lochgilphead, then on the A816 to Kilmartin, through Kilmartin and continue for just over one mile to the next turn right signposted Ford/Cladich on the B840. Then continue for another 2 miles into the village of Ford. Opposite the Old Ford Hotel the road bends to the right and over a stone bridge. Continue up the hill and the School House is the last house on the left. Turn in just before it up a steep track, the gates are on the right into a court yard. There is a small gate by your parked car on the right into the garden and round to the front door.
