A traditional shepherds cottage situated on a secluded hillside commanding spectacular views across Loch Awe.
A wonderful remote cottage which was totally upgraded in 2022. The cottage is set completely on its own in an elevated position looking down on Loch Awe. The access to the cottage is up a mile long farm track and is a total escape from it all!
You enter the property through a farm gate and into a fenced hillside garden which is dog proof. There is a parking area beside the cottage for your cars. The front door leads into a large conservatory with wonderful views of the open hill and across Loch Awe. The double glass doors then lead into the original cottage with a large twin/super king bedroom off to the left with a separate room with loo and wash basin. The sitting room which is to the right has a large log burner set in the original inglenook fireplace with comfy seating around to enjoy the warmth. In the sitting room there is a Freest TV, DVD player and a bluetooth speaker to play music as load as you want as no one will hear!.
The cottage has oil fired central heating and the property is now highly insulated so it gets really toasty. There is no Wifi in the cottage due to the remoteness but there is a good EE 4G/5G connection.
Off the sitting room is a corridor leading straight ahead to the shower room with large spacious walk in Mira shower, wash hand basin and WC. Then off the corridor to the right is a well equipped kitchen with views across the hill side and down to Loch Awe. The kitchen is very well equipped with all you will need to prepare meals for the family. The kitchen has a microwave, ceramic hob, double oven, coffee machine and fridge/freezer.
Upstairs there are two super-king or twin bedrooms. They all have hand made bedheads, hot blankets, hairdryers, crisp white linen, fluffy white towels, feather duvets and pillows. Both rooms have velux windows with views down the back of the cottage to the forestry.
You can eat in the sitting room or the conservatory as both have a table and seating for six. The views from the conservatory are stunning come rain, come shine. It can be used also for all your coats and boots with plenty of hanging space. There is an outside boiler/utility room to the back of the property which is a perfect drying room with sink, washing machine and tumble dryer.
You are in the middle of a wilderness and can spend the evening spotting the red deer grazing around the cottage and golden eagles and ospreys in the sky. The garden has a barbecue and a six seater picnic table.
Finchairn Cottage is available for Friday to Friday lets. We ask that guests arrive after 5pm so we have time to fully prepare the cottage for your holiday. We can do shorter lets and different check in days out of peak season so do get in contact to discuss your needs.
